Without a word…and she’ll be gone for days

But she always comes home and God only knows

She’s just made that way

She grew up runnin in the prairie sun

Her mama told..she’d never stay one place

It was in her eyes when she was young...it’s in her soul

 …she listens to the cottonwoods

she wanders in the wind

well I know my heart is hers

but I turn around…she’s gone again…

In the early morning she’ll come around

without a sound…and lay down next to me

well she always comes home and God only knows
